I E action canceled

can anyone out there help me ,when I open Ie browser it
makes sounds like a machine gun ,and the a page comes up
action canceled.If I ignore the noise I can still get
what I want,but The action canceled stays at the top of
the page.I have scanned the computor with everything iI
have and nothing shows up .My comp.is Sony Vaio P4 1.6
running Winxp,Thanks Stan.
