I don't know what to call this - help again

I get a pop up in my taskbar that last about 1 or 2 seconds. Looks almost
like a file. While it's there, the mouse has the hour glass on. Something
is happening and I don't know what or how to find out what it is. I've
rebooted, run antispyware, scans but it still happens.

Go to: Start>Run>type MSCONFIG and click OK. Now click the
Startup tab and see what is running (checked) that shouldn't be.
You can also check the Task Manager/Processes in the taskbar
to see what is running which will have a lot more entries.

Thanks for the post and I did what you said but to tell you the truth I don't
know what is or is not supposed to be running
