Why not just get an X2 (Dual core) motherboard? The X2 is two Athlon64
processors on a single die...uses less power than a dual processor
motherboard, and a dual core processor is faster than a dual processor
motherboard.
Any recent vintage 939-pin motherboard that is capable of supporting an
Athlon64-FX chip can support an X2 dual-core chip.

Except motherboards with the VIA K8T890 chipset, AFAIK. The VIA K8T800 is OK
with a BIOS update.
