I disabled (accident) Acrobat PDFMaker Add-in

Powerpoint 2007, Vista, Acrobat Pro9 extended.

I disabled (accident) Acrobat PDFMaker Add-in. I go into: PowerPoint
Options, add-ins, I see it under "disabled application add-ins".
When I click to to "manage COM add-ins. I get the following errors.
"the connected state of office add-ins registered in hkey_local_machine
cannot be changed"
I think I am a bit clever and go to the registry. Well I see the registry
event under power point, but do not see anything there.

I also check the trust center, trust center settings, add-ins. Everything is
unchecked....?

Any suggestions. I am about to reinstall acrobat but I would like to avoid
that since I am hoping for a quick fix...

thanks!!

I'm guessing reinstall is the way to go. But why not just print to the PDF
driver using File | Print?

This is probably because UAC is coming in the way on Vista. You can try
turning off UAC through "Start" | "Control Panel" | "User Accounts" | "Turn
User Account Control on or off", clear the box that says "Use User Account
Control (UAC) to help protect your computer", click OK. Reboot when
prompted. Now start PowerPoint and manage COM add-ins and see if you still
get the error. If you do not get the error and things are fine, well and
good. You don't need to reinstall. In any case, turn UAC on after making the
changes.

You can try a simpler alternative (although it may not be equivalent to the
other method that I suggested): In Windows Explorer, go to "C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office12" folder, locate POWERPNT.EXE file,
right-click it and select "Run as administrator" menu item. Now try to
enable the disabled add-in and see if this works.

That wouldn't preserve links or do any of the other fun stuff the add-in
does.

Of course, if links and the other fun stuff aren't needed ... yeah.

Ah, good point. Thx.
