There is this program in processes that runs in the background, takes a long time to turn off, and is slowing down my computer. It is called sgtray and is from Veritas Software. They have nothing on their website about it. If there is any information on if it is impotant and how to permanently turn in off, please help. Also, P2P Networking is automatically opening when i Log In, it also is slowing the computer down, how can I make it not open when i log in? Thanks!

Process File: sgtray or sgtray.exe
Process Name: StorageGuard Tray Application
Description: System tray bar application that is used to remind the user to
back up files. This free utility works with BackupMyPC, Simple Backup, and
MS Backup software.
Company: VERITAS Software Corporation.
System Process: No
Security Risk ( Virus/Trojan/Worm/Adware/Spyware ): No

This should get you started. . .

Look for it in the Startup folder or in the registry:
HLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

http://www.resellerratings.com/forum/t52612.html says:

In the registry navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop directory , then
alter the key AutoEndTasks to the value 1.

Note: the key 'AutoEndTasks' might not exist. If not,
simply create it with a value of 1. To disable the
AutoEndTask feature, simply change the value back to 0.

In addition to this:

Shutdown speed:

By altering a few registry settings, you can dramatically
decrease the amount of time it takes for Windows to shut
down. To do this, first open up the registry editor and
navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\

Once there, find the value HungAppTimeout and make sure
it is set to 5000 (that's the default). Now, in the same
folder, look for the value WaitToKillAppTimeout. Set this
to 4000 (the default is 20000).

Next, navigate to the folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro
l
and change the value of WaitToKillServiceTimeout to 4000
as well.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Jack
