i carnt install office on my windows 98se.

im trying to install office on my 98se and it says i need to update and gives
me a error code can anyone help please

What version of Office? Office XP was the last version to support Windows
98. If you are trying to install Office 2003 then, just as the message says,
you will have to upgrade to a later version of Windows.

sorry brendan.. it is . error 25506. microsoft word 2002 requires updated
system files not detected on your computer. you must install the system files
update prior to installing word. c:\ program files\ common files\
system\ADO\MSADOR 15. dll is version 2.10.3711.3 when we require version
2.50.4403.4.

If I remember correctly, doesn't Office XP include a 'prerequisites' CD?
Have you tried running that?

If the problem is specific to ADO, you could try installing the latest
version of MDAC ...

thanks alot i tried them sites updates and that ado site and it still didnt
