I can't sync Outlook 2003 email with my Smartphone

I have Outlook 2003 on WinXPsp2 and a new Audiovox smt5600 Smartphone. I set
up my Comcast POP email account fine on my desktop, but when I set up the POP
account on my Smartphone, the phone created a new "Personal Mail" account.
Therefore, I can only "send/receive" from this "Personal Mail" account, not
from the Smartphone's "Outlook" account. Therefore, my Outlook email isn't
snyched. In other words, I think the phone is pulling my email directly from
Comcast, and not from Outlook. Does anyone know how I can fix this disparity
on the Smartphone? Thanks very much.

Ask the vendor of the Smartphone. They should have supplied sync software
with the phone.

Brian, Thank you for your post. Cingular/Audiovox/Windows provided
ActiveSynch which works fine when I have the phone connect to the desktop via
USB. The problem seems to be the Outlook "send/receive" on the phone when
not wired to the desktop. The "send/receive" on the phone's Outlook email is
not selectable as an option. Any ideas?

Sending should (appear to) work whether or not you're connected to the PC
but any messages in your PDA Outbox will get sent when you sync with the PC
through the activesync account. Outlook will sync when connected to the
desktop, as will Inbox if you've selected that option, on the schedule
you've established in ActiveSync. If you want to send/receive at other
times, then you'll need to set up another account in the PDA's Inbox and
use, say, Comcast to transmit. You won't be able to sync with Outlook
unless you're connected to the desktop. With a phone like that, though, you
may be able to sync wirelessly if your dekstop has a wireless connection.

I think I got it after a few scenario tests. So, I can synch Outlook Email
between desktop and Smartphone without any problem when connected via USB.
Here's the problem then... Once I leave the office with the day's emails
synched into my Smartphone Outlook Inbox, all the email replies that I type

the email replies that I type on the go and want to send have to wait
in the phone's Outbox until I return to the office and re-synch. Is
this correct?

Yes.
