This is the error message i've recieved. I use hughes email but I don't think
its hughes thats having the problem because ive double checked everything
with them, tried all the trouble shooting things and I still cant send
emails. Does anyone know what I can do or if theres a customer support I can
call to fix this???

The host 'smpp.hughes.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have
entered the server name correctly.
Subject '', Account: 'mail.hughes.net', Server: 'smpp.hughes.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number:
0x800CCC0D

Shouldn't it be SMTP.HUGHES.NET instead of "SMPP" in your account setup for
Outgoing server?

Is the error message still exactly the same, or did it change a little when
you substituted "sp" for "pp". In the meanwhile, here's Hughes Vista email
setup instruction page:

Here is the new error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject '', Account:
'mail.hughes.net', Server: 'smtp.hughes.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

It looks like the socket error number changed and the error number changed
slightly.

Hal! I saw your reply to the post above, with her comcast email not sending
messages, and you told her to try port 587! I know I have hughes and not
comcast but I figured I'd try it to see if maybe hughes had some sort of port
switch going on and it works with port 587!!! Thank you so so much for your
help!!!

You appear to be sending from a non-Hughes.net connection, which
will block port 25. That is why switching to port 587 worked.
