Have you contacted your mail server or visited their Website to get the
correct account settings? Have you entered the correct settings in Tools |
Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers?

Do you need an icon to make it easier to start Windows Mail?

What email provider are you using? Many people choose their
internet providers as their email providers also, since many
internet accounts include one or more email accounts.

I am using yahoo. I just don't understand why i can use yahoo mail from a pc
but can't figure it out on my laptop. (only the sending of the email.) I can
read my incoming mail. I think i just may need to set up a server...does
that sound right? If so, How do i go about doing it?

Does this apply when i am logged on to yahoo trying to reply to a message?
I'm sorry for being so ignorant when it comes to this.

You might use their webmail interface if you have problems figuring it
out.

Installing a server program on your computer is difficult and expensive
enough that I doubt you'd want to do it.

Using the Windows Mail program to connect to the yahoo.com server
(which is not on your computer) requires that you either pay extra or
install a conversion program. You don't look ready to install any of the
currently available conversion programs and keep them running.

Some of these instructions were written for Outlook Express, but should
also work under Windows Mail.

Yahoo also has some servers intended for other countries or for specific
internet providers. These often have different rules and instructions.

This is a sharing community. Can you tell us what fixed it, so others
may benefit from your experience?
