I Can't see files in windows explorer staring with "q"

When i create a file or Folder starting with letter "q" the file or
folder just dissapers! and is NO longer visible under windows explorer
or Dos Prompt.

If I try to create a new file with the same name i get "A file with the
name you specified already exists" altough its not visible at all!!!

All other letters work OK.

I run windows XP SP2

That is weird. Are you part of a network? Do you have others using your
computer? Do you check for malware? Do you use any foreign language
keyboards?
In any case, try this experiment:
Control Panel
Folder Options
View Tab
Files and Folders Section
Hidden Files and Folders
CHECK: Show hidden files and folders
If this does not help, you may wish to go back and uncheck the option.
 
In Folder properties set it to Show Hidden and Show System files and see
if they appear. I would wonder if the PC has malware installed.

Do a virus scan.

Yes this virus was discovered on the PC and was removed using Spy
Sweeper the only thing that can remove it.
Haxdoor is also a variant of the virus the do the same! Hiding file -
folder starting with Q!!
