I cant reduce my file in ppt 2002 from 200dpi to 96dpi

Hi Guys,
I'm having a hard time reducing a file in power point microsoft 2002
I cant get it down from the 200dpi to the 96dpi on screen/ web and save it
Currently it is taking 1.5 mins to down load and show I need to reduce this
to .5
Please can some one give some advice
