I can't ping domain - I can only ping alias records

Hi, My goal is to be able to ping a domain name
I created a new standard primary zone
I can not figure out how to add an A or Host record for the domain. ie.. test.ne
Hence I cannot ping... test.ne
I can create & ping the alias records: www.test.net or ftp.test.ne

any ideas of how to create Host record for the domain... I am presented with errors when trying
when I try another method by leaving the name blank for new Host record (use parent folder-the domain name) it creates a "same as parent" record, but It does not respond to pings..

sorry for this I am used to BIND...

You right-click on the zone, choose new A record, don't type any name into
the first field (leave it blank). Then type in the necessary IP. You are
done.

I had did what you mentioned earlier and it did not work... as far as responding to pings
I created the A redcordd again, but this time I reloaded the zone, and it now repsonded to pings
I guess the answer is to reload the zone after adding all of your records
All appears to be working now... thank you for the reply!
