I am unable to receive attachements from various people. The paper clip may
or may not appear however the attachment, in various formats (pdf, word
document, excel spreadsheet), does not appear. We have had people send me
test messages just to my address, and then separately to my address and the
address of a co-worker. When they include my co-worker's address, the
attachment appears for us both. I appreciate any suggestions!

Version of Outlook? Type of Account? Message format?

Sorry - I'm new at this. I have Office Outlook 2003, professional edition.
We use html. I did not find the version.

Are these internal messages send through an Exchange server? Does the
message size indicates that there should be an attachment with the message?

They are not internal messages and have come from a few different companies.
We are using Exchange server 5.5. I looked at the one example I have and I
don't believe the size indicated an attachment, but I only have the one
example. I'll look for others. In the original message, the sender
indicated there was an attachment, and the paper clip was displayed. When I
opened it, there was no attachment, nothing even showing a file should have
been there. I had her re-send to myself and another user in my office and
the paper clip and the attchement were there.

Robert-
It just happened again. I received an email with no attachement, no paper
clip. The body of the message indicated she had attached a word document. I
asked her to send it agin to me with the attachment, and to copy a co-worker.
She did, and my co-worker received the message with the two attachments -
the size was 41 kb and noted that the email "contains 2 included files". I
received the email with no clip, no attachements, and the file size is 2k.
ANy suggestions? Many thanks-

See if you do see the attachments by taking a look at your mailbox through
OWA instead of Outlook. This way you can determine if it is happening client
or server side.
