I can't delete messages in my outbox

I can't delete my messages in my outbox and they won't send. I go offline
and they still won't delete.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, David asked:

I also can not delete two message from my outbox and it is slowing down
everything. How do I delete these messages? I have tried hitting
delete...but nothing happens. Help!

Click File, check Work Offline. Stop and restart Outlook. Delete the
messages from Outbox. Click File, uncheck Work Offline, stoop and restart
Outlook.
 
Was this resolved for you? I have a similar problem... but the 5 messages in
my outbox keep sending and sending... recipients have received dozens of
them. I cannot delete them. I've restarted, rebooted, "worked offline" and
nothing works. Help!
