I can't delete columns - help!

This is strange. For some reason, I no longer can delete columns (or rows).
The "Delete" option under Edit doesn't appear anymore. In searching to
figure out what was wrong, I noticed that "Columns" and "Rows" are no longer
an option under Format. Anyone have any clue as to what I did to make this
happen?

Is this with all menu items showing
<View><Toolbars><Customize><options. Select always show full menus
if it still does not show
goto
<View><Toolbars><Toolbars>
got to the bottom of the screen and select Worksheet menu bar and then click

Right click on a toolbar, select customise, go to the left side and click on
Edit. Then add the Delete option to the Edit menu on the toolbar by dragging the
Delete option to the Edit menu and as it drops down, then place it wherever you
wish and release your mouse button. Close the dialogue box.
