Unhide column difficulty

Walter Briscoe

I use Excel 2003 in Vista.

I have a file containing a calendar grid.

Each month has a column of day values, aligned with column B (the day of
week column) and a column of day data.

From the top left corner, I see

B EA EB EC ED ...
1 Jan 13 Feb 13
2 Sun
3 Mon
4 Tue 01 1_Jan_13_data
5 Wed 02 2_Jan_13_data
6 Thu 03 3_Jan_13_data
7 Fri 04 4_Ja 01 1_Feb_13_data
8 Sat 05 5_Ja 02 2_Feb_13_data
....

Occasionally, I want to see data for Earlier years.
When I unhide columns between B and EA, the data for columns C, D, E,
.... appears, but I can't use the slider to see to the right of column W.
I went searching and found the issue is that I have Freeze Panes set so
I can scroll right to see beyond Sep 13.

I still can't unhide column A.
When I select column B, that column and the row numbers get highlighted.
Format/Column/Unhide is ineffective.
I would value suggestions on why this might be.

I have solved my major difficulty.
I am hoping for some light from here on my minor difficulty. ;)

press CTRL+A to select all cells. Then rightclick on a column header =>
unhide

if column B is visible put the cursor on the left seperator in column
header of column B til it becomes a double arrow. Then leftclick an drag
to the right.

That did not work

It did not become a double arrow. It did become a width marker. I
dragged that to the right and A appeared to the left of where I was
dragging. That did it. Thanks for your help.
