I can't delete an unused pst file

I have a pst folder that I can't delete. When I try and close the folder I
get a error stating "The operation failed. An object could not be found".
The pst folder is NOT listed in the Data File Management listings of all my
pst folders. How can I permanently remove this pst folder?

PST's are FILES not folders.

What version of outlook are you using?
How are you trying to delete the file?
