Im running XP Professional, and have downloaded a jpeg file, and want to get
rid of it. However, when i right click on the file, it has no options for
properties or deleting, and it wont delete by normal means. I think it may
have too long a file name, and it doesn't have the extension on the name such
as .jpg or .jpeg. Can somebody help me, as this is NOT a file that i
intentionally meant to download, and no longer want it

This sound bad, when you’ve downloaded a jpeg file and now the name
disappear. Sounds like a Viral or Malware, if you run malicious scan tool
from MS and this didn’t remove it. Download the freeware Move-on-boot and get
release of this after restart. If you have System works install you also can
use Wipe info to get release of it or Clean Sweep.

You really need to be sure your System clean from malwares and Viruses by
running a scan for malwares and Viruses by whatever software you have or
download these:
1- Scan your computer with online scanner from here:
http://www.sophos.com
http://www.trendmicro.com
And also for malwares from here Update the Definitions for both and run a
scan:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

Then Log on safe Mode and try to delete the JPEG.
If you can't then download this tool and remove it:
http://www.ccleaner.com
HTH.
Let us know.

nass
