i can't change my 'check spelling as you type'

the area to select check spelling as you type is greyed out and I can't
change it... i currently am not having my spelling checked while typing an
email in outlook 2007, but want it to be!

Are you using Word 2007? If not, I don't believe that option is available in
Outlook 2007. the following is from a MS White Paper:
Experience without Office Word 2007 installed
Commands Not Available:
Proofing Tools
•Background spelling will not be available
Outlook 2007 will support spell check (function F7), but there will be no
visual indication (red underline) or background spelling.
•Thesaurus will not be available

do you have the full office suit or just outlook 2007? this option requires
word 2007.
