I can't add a shadow to my text within a cell

It's so frustrating because Excel help states "When you
want to add a shadow to specific text- for example, a
heading in a table- select the text and then click Text
Shadow on the Formatting toolbar". BUT there is no such
tool on the formatting toolbar or in the options for the
formatting toolbar! So where is it?
I can add a shadow to a text box, but this not what I
want - as I need to link data to a PowerPoint slide, and
have it update automatically.
Can anyone help?
Thanks...
