Wow. After spending hours and hours trying to make Outlook 2003 work
correctly, it seems that Microsoft has no answer for me (or anyone else, for
that matter!). The telephone tech-line was no help at all, and after reading
all the posts from other people I see that many, many users are also having
serious problems with Outlook 2003. I cannot send email, but can receive just
fine. I have consulted several local experts (paid computer professionals)
and they all tell me the same thing: "Microsoft Outlook 2003 doesn't work
well, and they won't admit that there's a problem."

Sure makes me glad that I purchased this headache-in-a-box for about $100.

I will not be buying any more Microsoft products.....when I purchase a
product - any product - I expect it to work with a reasonable amount of
effort. Don't think I'm asking too much.......

Well I guess you're in the wrong crowd then. Outlook 2003 works as a charm!

Other then just telling who you talked to you might want to post some clear
information on your actual issue like built number, account type being used,
error messages and things you've tried so far. From the information you
posted I would say that you've either misconfigured your SMTP server or that
you are using a virusscanner that integrates with Outlook and does a poor
job at it (which a lot of virusscanners do).
