I cannot paste text and my clipboard is empty?

I am not able to paste any copied text. My clipboard is empty, so I do not
know what is causing this problem.
 
If your clipboard is empty then it is copying - not pasting - that you are
unable to do. What are you trying to copy from where, and how?

I've tried copying from several sources such as emails in outlook, whole
files, parts of files in several different editors....However, I was able to
copy and paste on ONE of my remote desktops.
Any ideas?
 
Remote desktops? I know nothing about remote desktops; I thought this was a
Word newsgroup. Could you be a lot more specific about about what does and
doesn't work? If you are having trouble copying in many different apps on
one machine it sounds like you may have some software running that is
interfering with the clipboard. Or are you trying to copy between machines
using remote access? I don't know if that can be done.
