I cannot open DOCM files

I received an email with files that are shown as DOCM. example:ballons.docm
Is there a way I can open these files? I have word 2000.

There is a compatibility pack that you can download from:

But a docm file contains macros, and you may want to get the person who sent
it to you to send you a file without the macros.

IMHO, it's a bit irresponsible of them to send such a file when they could
easily have sent it in Word 97-2003 format.

That is a Word 2007 XML-based format for a doc that is Macro-enabled. Short,
straight answer, No, Word 2003 or earlier *cannot* open the file.
