i cannot get favorites in excel 2003

I upgraded to Excel 2003 and in the save or open dilog box favorites are no
longer an option. How can I get this back or something similar.

You should have what is now called Look in: (or My Places) on the left hand
side of the dialog box, which acts the same way as Favorites did. Add
folders or files by using Tools: and selecting Add to "My Places".

If it is not there, I'm not sure what the problem is.
