I cannot display recent documents in Word 2007

The 'show the number of recent documents' section in Options/Advanced is
greyed out. How should I activate this, please?
 
Close Word, and start regedit. Browse to the
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoRecentDocsHistory" key. If
the key value is set to binary 01 00 00 00, then change the value
to binary 00 00 00 00.
