I have Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2007. My powerpoint in question can be
found at
http://nelsot5.googlepages.com/statesthatsuceededtheunion

I want to have a powerpoint start right away and go to full screen
mode. Now I know that if you save the power point as pps that the
program will go to full screen right away. I made this type of
powerpoint and linked it to my webpage. Then i clicked on the link on
my webpage and it asked me what i wanted to do with the file: open or
save. I chose the save option first. After the file was saved to my
computer I opened it up and Yes! it worked.

But now I want to try the other option offered. I choose the OPEN
option and this time it still tells me i still have to save it. It has
called the file a zipped file. But hey I save it as a pps file. What
happened?

I want people to be able to open the file from the link on my webpage
without having to save it to their computer and have the power point
go immediately to full screen mode and begin. Do you understand what
I am asking? Let me know if it is not clear. Any ideas? Thanks for
your time.

For starters, it's not a PPS file, it's a PPSX.

See my replies to Arlene in a different thread. Getting it to open
automatically will require two things:

- That the person clicking the link has PPT 2007 or the 2007 viewer (or
probably 2003 with the compatibility pack)

- That the web server administrator on your site adds the correct MIME or media
type configuration information to the web server so the user's browser knows
what to do with the file.

OR

You could save and post a PPS rather than PPSX file.
