I Can send but not recieve

I can send but not recieve, I have setup a Gmail account the way I suppose
to do but when I turn on Windows Mail I get this Error Message

Account: 'imap.gmail.com', Server: 'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '* OK Gimap ready for requests from 71.223.51.190
22if4554877wfd.1', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90,
Error Number: 0x800CCC90

Any help would be appricated.

I hope that you appricate this advice?

Your error message tells me that you have your account set to use POP3
servers, instead of IMAP.

Tools>accounts>your account>properties>server tab.

Thanks Steve, I have configured as you outlined.
Now it connects to imap, and trys to download my folders, but it times out
everytime.
Any more sugestions???

Did you follow this advice from gmail?

IMAP clients aren't always designed to handle the huge amount of mail that
users store in Gmail. If you have thousands of messages in your folders,
recommend doing some housework to clean up your folders in the web
interface. https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service
Remember, the web interface shows counts of threads, not messages.
