I can not send email in Office 2003. My operating system is xp

I get the error message: operation timed out. Reported error (0x8004210B).
I have double checked my settings.

Often caused by failure to authenticate to the outgoing server or the use of
an antivirus program to scan outgoing messages.

Go to tools and then mail accounts - under more settings for the account you
use look under advanced and nder server time out you can set a longer length
of time. This will allow enough ime for the email to be sent before the
operation times out.
