I can not see my sata drive in "My Computer"

My 250 gig sata drive shows up in the device manager and says it is
working properly, but does not show in my computer, thus it is not
accesable. I was running XP pro, which was erroring on me, so I
bought a new copy of XP home and loaded it that is when this problem
began.

go into disk management
and see if you can assign it a drive letter

Hi,

Usually, if it does not show in Windows Explorer ("My Computer" is just
Windows Explorer), it indicates that either the drive is not partitioned or
that the existing partition information is damaged. Was this drive
previously showing data? Or was it one you just added?

Running winxp pro, which had some problems, so I bought / installed winxp
home

Dave,

If it has a drive letter assigned and you have TweakUI installed, open
TweakUi > expand 'My Computer' > click 'Drives' > check the Drive letter's
box, click OK. Close & Reopen Windows Explorer & My Computer.
