i can not open a new or old document.

When I try and open a new or old document it says
this modification is not allowed because the
document is locked. I can not get it unlocked.
Help!

I'm guessing that you are using Microsoft Word - Microsoft Access, the
subject of this newsgroup, doesn't deal with documents.

Try right mouseclicking on the file name in Windows Explorer, view the
file's Properties, and uncheck the Read Only checkbox.

If that is not the problem please repost to a Word newsgroup.
