i ca not print

why is it when i press print it goes to save document?

Exactly what are you pressing to try to print? And what version of
Word are you using?
 
Instead of clicking the Print button, press Ctrl+P to open the Print dialog
and see what "printer" you have selected. When Word asks for a filename it's
usually because you're printing to the Adobe PDF printer, a fax application,
the Microsoft Office Document Imaging printer, or the like (i.e., something
that creates an image rather than actually printing to a physical printer).
