I am unable to send an email through Microsoft Word

I am unable to send an email through Microsoft Word while using Outlook. I
also cannot send an email through another software that I used to before
installing Office 2003. Help! I think it is an Office 2003 issue.

What happens when you try?
 
I open Word, type a note, go to File, Send to, Mail Receipient or Mail as
attachment. I then get the message: Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI
failure: "Unspecified error". Sue.
