I am unable to reply to sender or forward.

When I try to use the icons: reply to sender, reply to all, reply to folder,
and forward; I just get taken back to my inbox. The help menu tells me that
I should simply click on the reply to sender icon and the message window will
open for me to type in, above the last message. Sounds easy enough but this
does not happen. Please help!
 
What version of Outlook? When did this start happening? What did you
install/uninstall/change just before it started happening? Did this ever
work? What troubleshooting have you tried? Detect and Repair? Reinstalling?
Rename outcmd.dat?

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, WestCoast1 asked:
