I am trying to write Word files to a CD. I'm using Windows XP in a home
network of 3 computers. I get a message that I don't have access to Drive E,
that I must contact the Administrator. I'm the Administrator.

Don't do it. Save the files to your hard disk, then put them onto the CD as
a separate exercise, using Explorer or your CD burner (depending on your
hardware).
