i am not office product administrator don't have a server

hi! my home pc will not let me update office. i get a message that says the
products have been updated from the administrative point on a server. only
the office product administrator should update, please visit the "office
resource kit" for more information.
I am not on a server. this is my home computer. I do have a wireless
router to my son's compute, that one is a compac (windows me) and this one is
a Dell (windows xp) only about 6 weeks old.
Any time I try to do anything with microsoft word it locks up and has to
restart. please help.... thanks

How was Office (version?) installed on your PC?

Can you run Detect & Repair successfully from the
Help menu in Word?

I think you should check out settings of your home PC. Or it will depend on your system which office version is installed in your home PC.

I think that virus attacks to your home PC.

You just simply remove threats from your system; I think you get better solution which you want.
