I am not able to read old .dbx folders in Outlook Express 6.

Hello,
I am a Windows XP with Outlook Express 6 user.
Few days ago I have lost all the OE6 folders! I do not know how it is
happened to me, I have just swiched on my PC and the OE6 folders were
absolutely new, without mail inside: only the Inbox folder was
receiving new mail.
I can say that my mail folders were very great: for example, the Inbox
folder was about 430 Mb.
I have looked for all .dbx file in my disk and I have found the old
..dbx in the same place together with the new ones: the old Inbox,
Outbox and so on were renaimed as the same name plus (1)!
There were also my old local .dbx with their original names.
A friend of mine suggested me to close OE6, then to cancel the file
folders.dbx and at the end to open again OE6.
I did it but my problem was unsolved so I have tried to import these
folders using the import function of OE6: OE6 was able to recognize
only the new folders, not the old ones.
My last attempt was to import all my mail in Outlook 2000: again, it
recognizes only the new mail boxes....
How can I solve my problem?
Thanks a lot in advance for your kind help and best regards,
Luciano Valle
