I am confused

Hi,
I want to know the different between Pass-Through Query / Create a link
table / ADP File

from a help file, I understand the Pass-Through Query send commands directly
to an ODBC database server that doesn't need Jet engine process the data.
How about if I create an ODBC linked table, when i open the table, does it
use Jet Engine? How about a ADP file, it uses Jet Engine as well (I don't
think ADP does)?
and I would like to know which one processes the data faster

Thanks for the explaination.

Linked ODBC tables allow you to easily combine the usage of Access tables as
well as linked ODBC tables. An ADP doesn't use Jet as connections are made
directly to the SQL tables/views/stored procedures...

You can't edit the records returned by a P-T query.

Any one of these can be faster or slower than the others. If you don't need
Access/Jet tables, consider creating an ADP.
