Check the BIOS - and only you know how to do that. Suggest you RTFM.

I noticed (when configuring) a while back that Dell where
charging extra to enable the hyper threading on some of
their Dimension PC's. I dont know if this applies the
entire range.

To check if hyper threading is enabled, take a look in
device manager, under processors. You should see 2 CPU's.

If you only see one, then hyper threading is disabled.

Restart your pc and hit del to enter the bios
setup.disable hyper threading from here.

Hey look everybody! This idiot thinks he's psychic! Just because *YOU* press
DEL to enter the BIOS on *YOUR* computer doesn't mean that *HE* needs to
press DEL to enter the BIOS on *HIS* - comprendez?! It isn't the generic
BIOS entry key - there are at least a dozen different keys and combinations
that I can think of off the top of my head!
