I have a Pentium IV 3.0GHz with Hyperthreading and whenever I enable
HyperThreading support, I cannot play DVD's using any media player software.
Not even Windows Media Player. Has any went thru any of these problems and
have sucessfully fixed this problem.

The problem may not be related. However, when Windows XP was being first
installed in this computer, was hyperthreading enabled in bios setup? Or
was this done as an afterthought, after Windows had already been installed?

Why not - any error messages?

Well, there are a couple of HT systems (WinXP) running here free of any
DVD problems - HT enabled, of course. Thus, your trouble might be caused
by a CPU/Hardware issue. Anyway, see if this optional update helps:

Thanks Detlev Dreyer. You are right. Hyperthreading was not enabled when I
first installed Windows XP. The cpu was upgraded and windows recongnised the
change but I did not set the bios to run with hyperthreading. I am going to
re-install my Windows XP anyway so I will run without it for now.

Made and error to my reply. It was thanks to GHalleck. At the mean time I am
trying out the patch that you redirected me to. Thanks.
