Hyperthreading for Win2k

Does anybody know of a patch or fix that will allow
Windows 2000 to recognize and utilize the new
hyperthreaded procs? I have just built a new system with
800MHz fsb and hyperthreading, and am using XP, but have
already had enough of this frilly childrens OS. (Did they
have Warner Brothers design the GUI or what!)
I have tried contacting Microsoft about a patch for 2000
but can't find anybody, phone or e-mail, that knows
anything.

What do you mean use hyperthreading. A xeon processer that is capable and configured for hyperthreading will be seen by
the OS as long as you have a multi-cpu HAL installed. Note it will see it as real cpu's though and not as virtual. W2K3
has the ability to determine they are virtual.
