Hyperterminal Settings

I am trying to connect to one of our servers to reset a
password and must use Hyperterminal to do it. I am
supposed to change the hardware settings to 7 data bits
and even parity. Hyperterminal acts like it takes the
changes until I hit dial. When I hit dial, it changes
them back to 8 data bits and no parity. It will not keep
my settings. This is very frustrating, please help.

A short answer: try to dial by typing ATDT number,
immediately after you change port settings.
