HYPERTERMINAL & BACKSCROLL

When I backscroll all I see is a few of the characters
I've received from the remote computer but mostly just
hundreds and hundreds of question marks. Any idea what I
can do to capture/view the entire session both my
keyboard input and all remote computer output to my
terminal?
 
I have been hitting that same problem for years now only with Windosw XP and
never found a solution. I bypassed this problem by using telnet from an
MS-DOS window. Another guy in the same newgroups is telling he is using
hyperterminal PE. Is there an official solution for the hyperterminal that
comes with Windows XP?
