if anyone could provide direction, greatly appreciated.
I want to create a document, and would like to create
hyperlinks to further explain certain points. for example:
an outline with main point with hyperlink to subpoints.
in order to streamline doc. so as not to overwhelm.

The HELP section in MS Word is quite useful.. this assume that MS Word is
the target program.. your posting was not too specific..

How you accomplish this would depend on what program you're using. For
Word, go to the subpoint that you want to jump to, place the cursor at the
beginning of that section and go to the Insert menu and select Bookmark.
Give the bookmark a name. Then go back to the point that would be jumped
from, highlight the relavent text, right click and select Hyperlink. Click
the Bookmark button and choose the bookmark to "jump" to.

Microsoft Word assumes you want to create a hyperlink
when you type a Web address. The address is in blue and
is underlined. Not everyone wants to create hyperlinks,
though.

There are two places where you need to remove a checkmark.

First, from Word's menu, go to Tools, AutoCorrect
Options, and then, AutoFormat As You Type. Uncheck the
option "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks."
Then, click on the AutoFormat tab. Uncheck the box next
to "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks."

Yes, this must be done in both places. Bummer. These
changes will not unlink Web addresses and e-mail
addresses that are already in a document. It only affects
new documents.
