Hyperlinks to a Cell within a table

I have a Word document which contains a Word Table - I have attempted to create a hyperlink from outside the table to a single cell within the table. When clicking on the hyperlink I always get returned to the top of the document not to the required cell in the table. I do not want to insert text boxes into the table. Any help will be most appreciated. It is driving me mad.
 
Hi Drew Strachan

Make sure you select the whole of the cell you want to jump to and add a
bookmark. Make sure you select the entire cell otherwise the bookmark will be
deleted when data is entered into the cell.

Now set up you hyperlink to the bookmark you added to the cell.
