Hyperlinks on desktop don't work!

When I click on any one of my hyperlinks on my desktop
such as Yahoo messenger, webshots daily photos etc, I keep
getting the error message "Unable to open hyperlink: the
specified path was not found". Does anyone know how I can
correct this? It's driving me nuts and believe me, at
this point that's a short ride!
