Hyperlinks in message takes forever to open

I have Outlook 2003 on Windows XP with all the latest Windows Updates. When
a message comes in with a hyperlink to say www.google.com, it take about 30
seconds before IE will even show up. Once IE opens, the page is shown
quickly. The 30 second delay is consistant - every time.

Opening IE is fine on its own. Opening the link by Start-Run and filling in
the link is also almost instant as well. Other programs do not seem to have
a
problem.

hi! i have the same "weird" problem but i have more questions.

if i open a internet explorer window (for example www.google.com) and then i
click in the hyperlink in the email.. the link open a new internet explorer
windows and load the page fine.
but if i close all windows and click in the link.. the page dont load..
