I have a word document that i am working on and i need to hyperlink a PDF
document back to this. When i do it through "Inser Hyperlink" button I am
unable to Open the document throught the link. An error message comes up
saying the Word can not open the Document.

I have tried this and it inserts the document as a hole or as an icon. All i
want is for the name of the document to appear. Am I able to do it this by
using this method???

Maybe not if you want this document to be transportable. However the reason
you are having problems with this hyperlink is that Word appears to
currently be the default application on your PC for opening PDF files,
whereas it needs to be a program capable of opening PDF files, which Word
isn't. Then you should get a security warning before that application opens
the PDF.

If you want the document to be transportable you need to save the document
and the PDF in the same folder and insert the link without a path. Word
should then be able to find the pdf provided that wherever it is moved to it
remains in the same folder as the document.
