hyperlink

Set the Subaddress property of the hyperlink to the cell you want to
set the focus to, e.g. "C3" (but without the quotes)...

I wonder if that works with bookmarks in Word... (might have to try
it...)

Okay....
When you create a hyperlink, there are two parts to the address
Hyperlink Address
Hyperlink Subaddress

So say you create a link to \\Netshare\subdirectory\SomeFile.XLS
Then you want to set focus to a specific cell, say Z15
Hyperlink Address would be \\Netshare\subdirectory\SomeFile.XLS
then subaddress would be the specific cell you wanted to go to: Z15
