Hyperlink within the powerpoint document does not work

I have Powerpoint 2002 SP2 and XP

I highlighted a text and did Insert/Hyperlink/Link to:place in this
document and selected a slide within the same document. The
highlighted text changed color and was underlined to indicate that
there is hyperlink behind the text. However when i move my cursor on
top of the Text, it does not change to show that there is link and
also when i click it nothing happens. ie when i click it, it is same
as selecting a non-hyperlink text. I have read and re-read the help
and have followed everything it requested.

please advise.

Thanks

Umesh

Have you tried this in Slide Show view? It won't be a "hot" link from the
Normal view.

Thanks. Yes when in slide show mode the link becomes "Hot" but when I
click on it nothing happens. Also I want in normal mode. Basically on
first slide I want to put links to some of slides in the file. This
way I can get to anyplace on file from first slide. If there is any
other way of achieving this, i would appreciate it.

Thanks

Umesh

In addition to what Sonia said about hyperlinks working in slide show
mode, not in normal view, do the slides you linked to have commas in the
titles?
