I'm trying to put a link on my webpage using frontpage 2002, but the web page has over 255 characters in it and frontpage won't take it, is there any way around that?

Nope.

Maximum length of a file name is 255 characters,
and it is considered a file name.

In addition, there are a number of browsers that won't support a query
string longer than 255 characters.

Sorry, but you'll need to short it up. The easiest way is by creating a
virtual folder that points to the page resources.

Actually the RFC for URLS is also still limited to 255
